When you are a field hockey player this was your chance to join a EuroGames sport event. During the 10th EuroGames, there was a Gay and Lesbian field hockey tournament organised. During the Sydney Gay Games the EuroGames organisation visited the finals of the hockey tournament, and they were overwhelmed not only by the game but also the atmosphere and the spirit in which the tournament took place. That’s why PinkHockey has been approached to organise a hockey tournament during the 'Midsummer Sports, your fairy tale comes true'. |

Thursday, June 16th 2005: - Morning & afternoon: start of the first PinkHockey Championships 2005 tournament for both men & women. - Afternoon: dinner for all hockey players, PinkHockey members, umpires and volunteers, active during EuroGames 2005. - Night: the official opening ceremony for the EuroGames 2005, followed by several parties in Utrecht. |
Friday, June 17th 2005: - Morning & afternoon: second day of the first PinkHockey Championships 2005 tournament for both men & women. - Afternoon: dinner for all hockey players, PinkHockey members, umpires and volunteers, active during EuroGames 2005. - Night: Parties and other entertainment all over Utrecht, in every colour, flavour and taste, such as the Open Air Festival in and around the beautiful medieval canals of Utrecht. There will also be a party for women only: Patsy. |

Saterday, June 18th 2005: - Morning & afternoon: third and final day of the first PinkHockey Championships 2005 tournament for both men & women, including the finals for both men & women. - Afternoon: medal ceremony PinkHockey Championships 2005 for both men & women. - Night: Parties and entertainment all over Utrecht, including the big Final Fantasy Sports Party for all Participants, Visitors and anyone else. The evening starts with yet another open air event and will be continued during the night at five dancehalls and clubs which you can enter on a single passe-partout ticket. |
Sunday, June 19th 2005: The 10th EuroGames Utrecht 2005 will close with a brunch and a Closing Ceremony. |

The introductory scuffles were promising, Wednesday night in downtown Utrecht. Energetic and good-humoured, would be a good way to describe the participants and other interested persons that attended the first two events within the scope of Eurogames. Before the official starting shot of the four-day event, the atmosphere was already quite good. Certainly at bar/disco Body Talk on the Oudegracht, where a 'Miet and Griet' was scheduled for the tennis and hockey players. The disco sounds of DJ Bibi even encouraged some to warm up their muscles a bit for the upcoming sports events. The languages of communication were English, German, Spanish and Dutch. |
At the MIET & GRIET you had the ultimate chance to meet the girl who would kick your ass on the field in the next few days, or to meet that cute aussiebum who has stop your way to the goal over and over again. |
Just for you gorgeous Hockey participants, umpires and volunteers we had organised a fabulous pre Eurogames-party at the number 1 pub in Utrecht named, The Bodytalk. Two floors: In the basement clubhouse by DJ Bibi, known of his amazing sets at the Milk and Sugar parties at Club Storm in Utrecht. And on the first floor you where able to sing along with Abba and Kylie brought to you by DJ Robbert and had a chance to see a fantastic performances by dragqueens; Miss Denise and Miss Marleen. |
